Starting from a one-man business founded in 1949, Burgdorf developed into an owner-managed medium-sized specialist company in the field of state of the art quench hardening.
The company’s success is built on the pioneering spirit of founder Karl-Wilhelm Burgdorf: His work consists of the development of very first high performance quenching oils with an adjustable cooling behaviour. This is based on the scientific conclusion that the quenching behaviour of evaporating fluids is influenced by their boiling properties. This makes it possible to adjust quenching characteristics to the specific needs – resulting from steel grades, part geometry and material measurements.
The range of products is being developed exclusively in Germany and produced under stringent quality control, thereby setting global standards: The globally protected brands such as DURIXOL, MULTIQUENCH, SYNABOL, SERVISCOL, POLYQUENCH, SERVITOL or SERVIDUR are used in production heat treatment shops in the industry, in commercial heat treatment shops and smithies worldwide.
