Company founded by Dipl.-Ing. Karl-W. Burgdorf in Nienburg an der Weser as a retail company. Development of the first mineral oil-based quenchants with controlled cooling behaviour. This was due to the demand for high-performance quenching oils for the heat treatment of mainly poorly hardenable and low-alloyed steels in the post-war period.
1949
1950 - 1960
Relocation of the office to Stuttgart.
Development of the first high performance, multi-grade and hot bath quenching oils as well as tempering oils (DURIXOL) which are highly resistant to ageing and evaporation.
1966
Change into a limited partnership - BURGDORF KG.
1968 – 1969
Entry of the sons of the company founder: Dipl.-Kfm. Hannes Burgdorf and Dipl.-Ing. Eckhard H. Burgdorf.
1971
Takeover of the company management by the 2nd generation.
1974
Distribution of first self-developed vacuum quenching oils (DURIXOL).
1976
Development of polymer quenchants for surface and immersion hardening (SERVISCOL) and their market introduction.
1979
Establishment of our own development and testing laboratory.
1984
Takeover of the company Erich Nüssle OHG, founded by Erich Nüssle in 1952, Nagold. Manufacturer of Stop-off Paints (CONDURSAL, CONDURON).
1986
Development and market launch of synthetic quenching and tempering oils (SYNABOL, SYNANOL).
1987
Market introduction of our anticorrosion products (SERVITOL).
1992
Takeover of the company Osmirol GmbH, Osnabrück. Manufacturer of polymer quenchants (OSMANIL).
1993
Introduction of the first special cleaners for component cleaning (UNIHA, SERVIDUR) into our product and service portfolio.
1996
Dipl.-Ing. Rainer Braun joins the company in preparation for the continuation of the business in the 3rd generation; takes over the function of managing partner in 2005.
2004
Acquisition of the quenching agent activities of Carl Bechem GmbH, Hagen, Germany.
2005
Dipl.-Kfm. Frank Burgdorf joins the company in preparation for the continuation of the business in the 3rd generation; takes over the function of managing partner in 2007.
2012
Acquisition of the quenching agent activities of Georg Oest Mineralölwerke GmbH & Co. KG, Freudenstadt, Germany.
